The rooms were huge, with everything we needed, including a bathtub, and the balcony was spacious too. The elevator was roomy, smooth and quick, so we never had to wait long. Staff were lovely: they even gave us one free breakfast and arranged private transport. The morning food, cleaning and rooms were all great, and the staff were a real highlight. The hotel is well placed for the center. The beach nearby wasn’t especially great, but it was okay. The salty bathroom water and the car fumes outside were small downsides, though neither was something the hotel could control. There’s no pool, but that didn’t matter to us. It isn’t cheap, but I felt it was worth every penny. I really don’t have anything negative to say about the hotel, which is unusual for us in Greece.

The beach isn’t as close as the listing makes it sound, and the breakfast has plenty of options but uses very cheap ingredients. We booked a walk-in shower and got a bath with an old shower curtain instead, so don’t count on receiving the room you reserved. There was extensive building work happening, but the manager said there wasn’t any. This is nowhere near a four-star hotel. See the photos.

There’s enough parking for hotel guests, which was a real plus, and breakfast was perfectly fine. The hotel isn’t right in the city center, but the main sights are an easy walk away. We’d stay at the Palatino again next time we visit Zakynthos.

The reception team were my favourite, so friendly, and they even let me help care for their hotel kitten 🥹 The place was very clean and conveniently located, with most places within walking distance. I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Palatino.

The pebbly beach is just across the road, and there are a couple of places along the way into town where you can get into the sea for a swim. It’s only a few minutes from town, and the staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was the best we had during our two-week trip. We were very happy with our choice.
