We came to Strada Marina Hotel for our wedding trip to Zakynthos, and we have fond memories of it. The harbor view was stunning, and waking up to that panorama each morning was a pleasure. The hotel also surprised us the day after our wedding with a fruit platter, a bottle of champagne and a card saying “Congratulations.” It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the celebration more memorable. The location is the hotel's biggest asset, and the kind attention we received was lovely. But for a 4-star hotel, the property could use renovations. The rooms and common areas feel dated, and the standards aren't as modern as we'd expect. Breakfast was basic, with little variety, and disappointing for a hotel of this category. The bathroom was the biggest downside: old, with a very small tub showing rust and limescale, plus a shower curtain that added to the dated look. With some improvements and renovation, this hotel could live up to its 4-star rating.

The marina view from the room was lovely, but we checked in and checked out within an hour. No one told us the pool wasn't open or that we couldn't get a drink at the hotel. We heard banging and drilling from the rooftop, then went up to see the pool and bar and found a building site 🤨. We couldn't believe guests were allowed to get out of the lift into that area. We asked if we could get a drink at the hotel and were told no.

The location was perfect, within walking distance of the port, which worked well for our early morning sailing. We stayed two nights across two separate reservations. The rooms are small, and the bathroom is even smaller than a cruise ship bathroom. Breakfast was average, and parking is a concern.

The rooftop was a highlight, with its little pool, bar and restaurant overlooking the city. The restaurant food surprised us in a good way, some of the best we had in town, so kudos to the chef. But if you're on the top floor, expect noise from above: not music, just the ongoing scrape and drag of metal chairs and tables across the floor. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and housekeeping was adequate. The AC worked reliably. The bathroom felt old and awkward, with a small, oddly shaped tub that served little purpose, and the door couldn't open all the way. The hotel is right at Zante’s harbour, with lovely water-facing room views at sunrise and sunset. It's noisy outside then, but the balcony doors did a surprisingly good job of blocking most of it. Breakfast was okay but disappointing for a four-star hotel. The coffee was weak and watery, and the selection barely changed each morning. Check-in was also rough at first: one staff member was unhelpful and unfriendly and didn't give us the information we needed. Luckily, another receptionist stepped in and sorted it out quickly, making sure we got the service we'd paid for.

The location is good, but the hotel is advertised as 4 star and falls well short of that. Outdated facilities, poor service and a general lack of quality made the stay frustrating.
