Zante Beach Resort

There was a good selection of food and drinks in the all-inclusive package, including salads or baguettes each day that you could take to the pool or bring along for a day trip. I was also very happy to see so many cats around. The entertainment was enjoyable, with Greek dancing, a disco, and musicians. The hotel is lovely and very clean, with modern Scandinavian-style decor in a peaceful area. I’d recommend booking the specialty restaurants, the food there was next level. My one difficulty was the online system for activities like yoga and wine tasting. We arrived a day late and missed out, so it would be better if you could book those in person.

We found it to be a nice hotel, but for the price, it didn’t live up to what the advertising led us to expect. The accommodation, beach, and food were fine. Rain was a problem, though. Our room was outside the main building, so we got wet every time we went to the restaurants, and one restaurant was outdoors and freezing. Rain also cancelled activities such as Pilates and saxophone night. We had officially booked the classes, but nobody told us they wouldn’t take place. The day beds and chairs outside were left uncovered, so they were all wet afterward. The wellness and spa offering was limited to massages, with no sauna or anything else. We had chosen the hotel partly because listings such as Booking.com and the website photos showed bicycles, but there were none, not even for rent. Staff didn’t try to sort this out. In general, the staff weren’t especially helpful and sometimes weren’t friendly, though that wasn’t true of everyone. The biggest concern was food for dietary needs. One of us is vegan, and the hotel advertised options for people with restrictions, but the buffet dishes weren’t labelled vegan. We had to ask each time and often got no answer. One cook said the baklava was vegan, then another said the next day that it contained butter. There were some vegan options, but not many. The à la carte restaurants had more choices, though they needed advance bookings, and on our first day we couldn’t reserve all of them because some were already full. If you have allergies or are vegan, we can’t recommend this hotel.

The bed was so hard that my hips and shoulders hurt, and I slept poorly every night. The shower was weak, and the temperature kept jumping from boiling hot to freezing with no warning. This was our third visit to the Domes catalogue and our first time in Zante. The location was just right, away from the nightlife but an easy walk from the beach, about 20 minutes. The hotel was clean and smelled nice, and the staff were polite and professional. There was a big range of food and drinks. The pool wasn’t heated; I imagine it warms up in summer, but during our visit it was ice cold.

Thalia deserves special thanks. She made the impossible possible and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Our beloved Wonder Woman! Her kindness and professionalism made our holiday unforgettable. We also want to thank Lenny, Wayne, Andreas, and all the other staff. Every staff member was friendly and accommodating, and they went the extra mile to make sure we had what we needed. From the warm welcome when we arrived to the attentive service, the hotel made a wonderful impression. The facilities were outstanding, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere felt both relaxing and luxurious. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for such wonderful hospitality.
