Zante Vero Rooms

The facade has at least had some work to bring it up to date, which is why I’ve given two stars. Inside, the hotel feels completely impersonal. There was no receptionist around apart from when we arrived and someone handed us the key, and there’s no lift. The bathroom is cramped and badly equipped, and the WiFi might as well not exist. A carrier pigeon would be more useful. I’ll leave it there before I get to the reasons for the rating... 😀😀😀 Happy holidays, so to speak, everyone.

The place was nothing like the pictures. The rooms looked old and awful, smelled of cigarettes, and weren’t very clean. The owner, or the person who greeted us, was odd and unpleasant, and there was a terrible smell around the place. Getting to the rooms meant climbing a dizzying spiral staircase. The bathroom was dirty, too. The shower is tiny and has a curtain, so water gets all over the floor in seconds. Even the tap water tasted salty. Give up, friends!

The owner seemed indifferent, smelled awful, and spat. When we had to carry our suitcases up four floors because there was no elevator, he told us we were young and could handle it. The rooms were miserable and dirty, with no TV, and the bathroom was filthy, with hair and blood. The photos showed somewhere else, of course. I’ve never stayed in a worse place.

If you’re on a budget, it works. The owner is very friendly, and the rooms are standard, nothing special.
