Casa Florencia Hotel

A nice place in Antigua, with a comfortable room and bathroom. The property is secure, with a locked gate.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel is a little north of the city center. I’d avoid a downstairs room, though: the window sits about 3 meters from a high wall, so the room is dark. Compared with another hotel I stayed at in Antigua before moving here, this one feels a bit old-fashioned. The shower, water, and electricity all work, and everything is properly maintained, but the design is dated.

Our host made the stay solid. Tucked away amid Antigua’s bustling streets, the place felt like a humble retreat in colonial surroundings. There’s no hot water, though, so brace yourself for a gasp-inducing shower.

Visited in April 2024. This little boutique hotel is handy for getting to the many restaurants and bars around Antigua. Nothing fancy, but the room was memorable and felt like it had some history. It had high ceilings and twin beds larger than average. There’s also a communal fridge at reception, which came in handy when it was 35°C outside. Antigua Guatemala is a very nice place to visit, highly recommended.
