The walls let you hear your neighbors' sex lives, while random footsteps and pipes rushing nonstop fill the hotel with noise. The shower takes about ten minutes of negotiation, swinging between cold and lava-hot. I absolutely did not enjoy this loud, echoing place. PRO TIP: bring earplugs, a white noise machine and something to help you sleep.

The food rule was especially strange and restrictive: guests can't bring food into the hotel, even leftover meals or snacks from a bodega. I had prepaid for breakfast, but when I asked to take some bread because I couldn't sit down to eat, I was treated like a criminal. Another person in our group had the same kind of experience on another day. As someone who travels often for work and leisure, I was truly disappointed by the way we were treated at a resort-style hotel. We won't return or recommend it. Service overall was unacceptable. The fitness center was surprisingly poor for a hotel this size. On the plus side, the grounds were lovely, the location convenient, and the rooms and facilities very clean. But the walls are thin, so you can hear coughing, snoring and TVs in neighboring rooms.

The sofa bed seemed older than I am, and room service was low quality. I left a do not disturb sign on my teenager's door and told the maid not to enter, but she went in anyway and woke them up.

We had a two-bedroom villa for a week, and it couldn't have worked out better. Diego checked in with me to make sure we had what we needed, and all the staff were exceptional. Great location for a vacation. We'll definitely be back!
