The staff, Victor and Emerson, were polite, but I left feeling that management did not care about guests and could not be trusted. I was charged for the rest of a six-night booking after asking to leave early, and the cancellation terms were unclear. I booked through Booking without prepaying. The hotel charged me for two nights on the first day. After night one, we asked to switch rooms and were told none were available, although we neither saw nor heard other guests. After night two, we asked to cancel the remaining nights. We were told we could, but had to update the reservation through Booking. Since payment was due to the property rather than Booking, the platform would not let me change the dates. The owner then said our contract was with Booking, which was not true. Booking's confirmation email said cancellation within five days of the reservation cost one night's rate, while a no-show meant paying the whole reservation. It said nothing about changing a booking, yet the hotel charged me for all the remaining nights. My card company flagged the charge because the owner used my card number without having the card, which he had no authorization to do. The hotel also apparently lacks the required Guatemalan government "libro de quejas" (complaints book). On top of all that, there was extreme street noise, poor ventilation, and bad mattresses, as other guests have mentioned. Avoid this hotel.

Ask for a room away from the main street. The hotel is very nice, and the friendly staff make it a great family stay. The small pool is pleasantly lukewarm, just right for a splash after a day in the city, with or without kids.

The rooms were nice, the bed very comfortable, and the service great. There's no restaurant, but plenty of good places nearby. The walls are thin enough that you can hear whoever is in the next room, and I had to fiddle with the tub drain lever to get the water to drain. Still, I loved the place.

Every room had its own layout and a slightly different city view, and all of them were beautiful. The owner personally decorated this lovely boutique hotel with rare antiques and Mayan artifacts. We had delicious breakfast each morning, and the staff were friendly and professional, making us feel right at home. It was only a short walk to the town center. This was one of the most beautiful hotels I've had the pleasure of staying in, and I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Antigua.

Victor, the owner, greeted us early each morning and made sure there was water in our rooms when we returned from exploring Antigua. He also had great suggestions for places to visit. Everyone on staff was friendly and ready to help, and the beautiful rooms and views made the cozy hotel feel like home. We got to help make the colorful handmade carpets for the Catholic procession and experience Guatemalan culture. We also had an authentic Guatemalan “Chaplin” breakfast and Guatemalan “tamales” for dinner. It was a phenomenal stay, and I'll definitely come back when I visit Antigua.
