The massage was the highlight of my stay. They offer it in your room or at the spa, and I chose to have it in my room. The free breakfast was delicious every morning, and it was only 15 minutes from central park. Hobitland was 35 minutes away and the cross 45. This felt like a hidden gem, with clean, spacious rooms and breathtaking views right in front of the two volcanoes. They call one Water and the other Fire. Fire lights up at night and puffs smoke during the day. So many great photo opportunities. Remember to convert your money before leaving the airport: divide our dollar by six. Thank me later.

The service was unbelievable from before we arrived until we left. The whole crew was top tier, especially housekeeping. Every day Zuly had our room beautifully cleaned, and even left our clothes freshly cleaned and folded. I've never had a hotel go so far above and beyond. Thanks as well to the breakfast servers for being so helpful and hospitable, and to the front desk, reception, and security for always being kind. I didn't have a single bad experience. The location was wonderful, about a 10-minute drive from Antigua and a short walk to nearby supermarkets and shopping malls. Waking up to the stunning volcano view, then having a fresh breakfast on the patio, felt surreal. The hotel was extremely clean and cozy, and the grounds were constantly kept up. Mestizo Cortijo made our stay feel special and authentic. I travel often and can easily say this is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. I'd recommend it to anyone coming to Antigua for a beautiful, authentic, hospitable experience.

The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Kelly at the front desk was always smiling and ready to make our stay perfect. Diana, who put together our dinner, knew the dishes and ingredients so well, and her skills were impressive. Elmer made our already delicious breakfast even better. The rooms were lovely, and the food was fresh and delicious. We loved it and hope to return. My husband and I spent three days here for our honeymoon and were so happy with everything that we nearly changed our trip to come back instead of going to Lake Atitlan. Mestizo contacts guests to check their needs and arrange special experiences. We bought the romantic package, with a couples massage and a private, carefully planned dinner for two in an on-site cave that felt surreal. The quality was beyond compare, and the staff were lovely. We also had breakfast here because the gardens and terrace were so picturesque. Hotel breakfasts are usually something I avoid, but not this one. Our server explained the artisanal thinking behind each plate, making even simple dishes feel more complex and exciting.

The hotel is charming and spacious, the staff are great, and the views are amazing. We could see Fuego from our room right from bed, and Volcán Agua was beautiful from the garden. We wanted a getaway, so the distance worked for us, and an Uber to Antigua cost only $5-$7. Still, the trip took longer than expected, around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic, which is usually busy. Be ready for noise. The hotel is right off a main road, so loud motors went through the night. Fireworks also went off until 4 or 5 a.m., sounding like cannons. They seemed to be for celebrations and sometimes religious occasions, though locals said it was mostly celebrations. I was annoyed, but tried to embrace the culture. I'm not sure why this is tolerated so late, and visitors from the US should know we don't have these traditions back home. After sunset, a neighbor started burning trash, leaving a sewage-like smell across about a 2-mile radius all night. We couldn't miss it. The hotel has automatic air fresheners in the room and earplugs. They know about the issue but can't do anything, so I don't blame them.

The meals were a real highlight, including the phenomenal complimentary breakfast. My niece got pancakes with homemade caramelized nuts, mousse, and ice cream, basically dessert for breakfast. The rooms were gorgeous, with stunning views that had me taking lots of pictures, and the pool was so unique. We were welcomed with a delicious cocktail, and parking was included. From arrival, the hospitality and attention to detail impressed me. The service was incredible, food phenomenal, and views extraordinary. It was a wonderful, relaxing getaway for couples, groups, or families. My only regret is not staying longer. I can't wait to return. It's in the details.
