Hotel Casa Gaia

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Casa Gaia. The service was amazing too. Thank you!

This felt like a country paradise, yet it was very close to everything we wanted to do. The grounds are beautiful, with gardens, and the hotel buildings are thoughtfully laid out and constructed. There's a lovely restaurant onsite with something for everyone. They space guests out intentionally, and were very accommodating when we wanted to extend our stay. Rooms are very clean, with daily housekeeping, and the beds are very firm. In the morning, you hear birds and wildlife instead of trucks and motorcycles, which was lovely to wake up to. There's plenty of parking behind locked gates, and the staff are wonderful. The property is extremely well maintained, right at the edge of Coban. It's probably the nicest hotel in Coban, so prices are a little high, but the security and facilities speak for themselves. Highly recommended!

The property is clean and well looked after, and the food is delicious. Both the staff and the owners provide outstanding service. A very nice place to stay in Cobán, highly recommendable.

We never got beyond the front desk, so I can't say what the place itself is like. My husband went in to ask whether anyone could help with our bags, and instead got into a back-and-forth with someone who thought he was my Uber driver, lol. A friend had told us the place was known for catering to foreigners, but apparently a Guatemalan walking in is a problem. It felt racist, so we'll spend our money somewhere that doesn't treat my husband like garbage.
