The lancha driver was really sweet, and you can request a ride to Flores Island and back anytime from 7am to 10pm, which is handy. The reception staff were friendly, though not as genuinely warm as people at most other places we stayed. There are lots of seating options, from loungers and bar stools to tables and hammocks, but the hotel didn't feel homey. The rooms and grounds are nice, yet everything seemed a bit old and worn and probably needs redoing. For the price, the service didn't feel like good value.

The setting across the river, on the other side of the island, made the hotel wonderfully quiet. We loved the rainforest around it, and spent a relaxing afternoon reading in the hammocks on the dock. The little boat ride to Flores Island takes about 5-10 minutes, and the staff were very attentive and helpful with requests. My three friends and I stayed three nights. The room was spacious, the bathroom very clean, the beds comfortable, and the AC cold!!!! The showers were hot with great pressure. Staff cleaned daily and replaced the towels and sheets, which was a real treat. They went above and beyond, and these peaceful days were a highlight of our Guatemala trip. It was very affordable too. Beautiful room, excellent food, and such nice staff. I've never had better service at a hotel. I'd definitely return if I'm in the area.

The park is lush and peaceful, and our room looked out toward the lake and surrounding nature. We were lucky enough to spot monkeys and iguanas. Breakfast was delicious: the omelette maya was filling, with a nice mix of savory and sweet, and the yogurt bowl came with tasty granola and lots of fruit. I spent three nights here, and it was the best place I've stayed during a month of travel. The staff were so friendly and helped with all our requests, with excellent service. I strongly recommend it and hope to come back. Thanks to everyone who made the stay so good :)
