Hotel Ciudad Vieja

I felt very safe walking around the neighborhood as a woman traveling alone. Shops, restaurants, and a mall for anything I forgot were about an 8 to 15 minute walk away. The garden area was lovely for sitting, having a drink, or eating, and the hotel itself is charming and adorable. My room was immaculate, and the staff were so nice and helpful. They really went above and beyond. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

The decor took me back to an older Guatemala City, the kind I remember from childhood. My family and I wanted somewhere charming, rustic, and beautiful for the night, and Cuidad Vieja Hotel gave us that and more. The whole place felt secure and safe. The team was warm and accommodating, and everyone we met was kind and friendly from the moment we reached the front door. The attention to detail was amazing. Thanks to the staff of Ciudad Vieja! We'll definitely book again. I highly recommend it for a quaint, peaceful stay.

I've stayed here three times and haven't had the noise issue someone mentioned. The rooms can feel stuffy with just one window, but opening it helped. My only real complaint is that the bed felt a little hard, though I still slept well, so it was manageable for me. The grounds have greenery everywhere, and breakfast was simple but good. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. It's close to some hospitals and Oakland Place Mall, with lots of excellent restaurants within 1.6 km (1 mi). The airport is a short taxi ride away. It was very quiet at night, so I got a good rest. There's a great restaurant across the street, and laundry service is nearby, just a 3 min walk away. The location is great.
