Hotel El Marlyn

It’s only a few meters from the sea, which is a plus, but there were a lot of problems during our stay. The food staff treated us poorly, and the parking they offer is near the hotel with no security. I saw on the monitor that its cameras weren’t working. There were also far too many mosquitoes, though I know that’s not the hotel’s responsibility. Our room had no soap or shampoo, the air-conditioning control didn’t work, and water from the toilet leaked onto the floor. Then we woke up to find there was no water. If you’re hoping to rest, this isn’t the place. The reception was still noisy after 11 p.m., even though the signs say noise is prohibited after that time.

It’s awful here. We want to leave at 6:30 in the morning, but we’re locked in, and there’s a sick person inside. The service is terrible. How did this place get four stars? I would never come back.

The room was cramped, with two dirty beds, and the bathroom always smelled bad. The door locks didn’t work either. The pool was filthy and cracked, and it hurts to get in. The wooden loungers beside it had nails sticking out, and their boards fell off when you sat down. The cleaning staff were rude and had a bad attitude, saying the hotel didn’t pay them. I’d never return to that awful place. There’s nothing good about it.

The one real plus is how close it is to the beach. I wouldn’t mind the location or the price if the place were properly equipped, but it wasn’t. We were told it had kitchen space and was equipped; all they had was a mini electric stove and a refrigerator in a shared room. The photos they sent didn’t match the website, and the rooms were very small. The room they offered for “10 people” was extremely cramped, with electrical outlets far from the beds. The bathroom had no soap, towels, toilet paper, or basic toiletries. The pool also didn’t look like the pictures. For so little, the accommodation costs way too much.
