Hotel Costa Verde

The staff were great hosts, really friendly and helpful despite my terrible Spanish, and I’d stay again for the people alone. Each evening the restaurant cooked our catch, either to eat on the patio or bring to our room. After long days on the water, the pool was a welcome refresh. We were in a two-bedroom, one-bath bungalow for a short fishing trip, 3/12-15, with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. It was a decent, efficient unit. Each bedroom had its own AC, so we could cool things off at night, and the fridge got very cold once it was running, perfect for an evening beer or two. Bottled water was provided in the rooms, so use it. The beds were a little firm but fine for me, and I slept reasonably well. The property backs onto a farm, where a rooster with its own sense of time woke me earlier than I wanted once or twice. The showers may have used solar heating, or may not have had hot water. It wasn’t what I’m used to back home, but I’m in a new country, so I just went with it. The posted photos are accurate, though I didn’t add any of my own.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was nice, and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff and a great hotel. It’s about a 10 minute drive from the port, which worked perfectly for our fishing trip.

We had a good time staying here. The food and service were both great!
