We picked the location because we had daily plans, including nearby hot springs and hiking Chichibal. There are also good coffee shops and a central park a short walk away. The old building has plenty of character, and they’ve put real effort into its vintage decor. Our rooms were dark at night and the beds were comfortable. Secure parking across the street was handy, especially since parking in Xela is difficult. The restaurant’s menu was much bigger than we expected. The outdoor seating gets chilly, so bring a jacket. Hot water was unreliable: our tub took over an hour to fill because the water kept stopping or turning cold. One of us managed a hot shower, but the other had no hot water.

The road around the hotel is rocky, and passing cars and trucks make a lot of noise and vibration. It made it hard to rest. The hotel itself is beautiful, with lovely rooms and thoughtful details everywhere.

We had a lovely stay, and the breakfasts were amazing. Oscar, our host, was helpful and full of useful information. The hotel is only a few blocks from the park.

Everyone was so friendly, and breakfast in the garden was generous and delicious. The hotel is cozy and relaxed, with lovely big rooms, and its location in Quetaltenango is excellent, just minutes from the main square. We’d all be happy to return! 👍
