Mame Trees

Mames Trees was a great, affordable room in West End. It was spacious, clean, and had air conditioning, a fridge, microwave, and Fire Stick TV. Half Moon Bay is right across the road, with beach chairs included at no charge. You can arrange an excursion or snorkel in the bay, and Sandy Buns, my favorite restaurant, is close by. I was traveling alone as a woman, and Adam, the owner, made me feel safe. He assured me they have security around the clock. They also keep an eye on your chair if you leave the beach to eat.

The beach is just across the street, and the chairs they provide are free to use. Our room was comfortable, the kitchen had what we needed, and the balcony was a nice spot to eat, unwind, or hang wet clothes. The staff were quick to help and respond.

The beachside location is the real draw, and having sun loungers to take across is a big bonus. We booked the less expensive garden room, but the photos left us thinking it had a kitchen, and it didn't. There's no bathroom door either. Communication is through WhatsApp since there's no proper reception. Construction was underway while we were there. It wasn't especially loud, but the noisy work kept starting at 8 each morning and then stopping, which was frustrating.

The rooms are nice, the views are lovely, and it's well placed for the beach and getting around the island. It's not a luxury resort, but it is comfortable and safe, right by the water. The owner and his family live there and run the place locally. I'd stay again with my family.
