We spent nine nights at Paya Bay for a retreat, and the setting is stunning. The trails and beaches are incredible, and the view from the yoga platform is out of this world. Staff were kind and caring and made us feel welcome. Getting to Paya Bay takes some effort, but that adds to its charm. Go snorkeling with Captain Tom if you can, and please give Arnel our regards. He told us a lot about Paya Bay and Roatan's history. The dive shop was hard to find, and when it wasn't clear where he was dropping us off, he stayed until he knew we had connected with our dive operator. Such a sweetheart. I'd highly recommend Paya Bay if you're looking for somewhere that feels authentic and Honduran.

Paya Bay Resort has lovely beaches, winding trails, and tucked-away places to enjoy the scenery. It's a wonderful, somewhat rustic resort, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The drive there and on to the West side takes a while and can be bumpy in places, but it's a gorgeous place to relax, snorkel, or dive, with diving right there. There's a sloth and monkey hangout nearby. The food at the resort was good, and we went more than once to La Sirena, a nearby restaurant over the water. We loved our time there.

The staff gave us outstanding service, and the food was excellent. Paya Bay Resort is also a peaceful place to disconnect, surrounded by stunning natural beauty, with clean, comfortable rooms that make it easy to relax. A few updates to the rooms could make the stay even better.

I wish I were still there. The staff were outstanding, breakfast was fantastic, and the views across the property are beautiful. The beaches are great and the trails around the grounds are really cool. Rooms are a little worn, but not bad. Can't wait to go back!
