Intercity Hotels San Pedro Sula

The hotel is in very, very poor condition. It needs a serious upgrade to fit its location, or to be demolished. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this needed to be said.

I stayed at Intercity after strikes left me needing a room for the night. I’d been there before and arrived at 10pm. A nice man checked me in and helped carry my bags upstairs. I told him my boyfriend might get through after the road cleared in the middle of the night. He wrote my boyfriend’s name on the back of the registration card and said he’d be given a key. There was no refrigerator in the room, and I had seafood empanadas from New York that I didn’t want to spoil. The man said they could go in the employee lounge fridge and marked the bag with my room number, 408. The next morning, my boyfriend called to say the woman at the front desk wouldn’t let him upstairs. She was too busy to speak with me through his phone and told me to call her directly through what’s app, since there were no phones in the room. I chose to check out instead of going down to get him. I asked the woman for my registration card, and she showed it to me. I pointed to my boyfriend’s name and asked why she hadn’t let him up. She said she hadn’t been told. Then I asked for my food bag. She couldn’t find it and asked what it looked like. I said it was a green plastic bag with “408” written on it. She admitted she’d let other guests into the employee lounge to get “their” items, and must have given mine away too. $103 of food was stolen. The woman is Udia Solota and should be fired. I have my purchase receipt, flight information, and hotel reservation as proof. She gave me $100, but it wasn’t about the money. My 93 year old grandmother was waiting for something that never arrived for her to try.

The staff were friendly, but the hotel is run down. My shower was cold with no hot water, the elevators didn’t work, and the lobby and hallways were burning hot. I had to use the emergency stairs for six floors every time. The old bed and pillows were in bad shape, and parts of the carpet in my room were wet. Don’t stay here.

The location and service are great, and everything else was good. The beds were the one drawback: their “queen” is really a “full.” Booking online is also a lot cheaper than booking directly with them.
