Hotel Portal del Angel

We were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely house with a pool right in the city. From the back entrance, you can walk to a few restaurants in the evening. Our room was huge and comfortable, with good-quality bedding, a mini kitchen, and a proper desk. There was also plenty of storage in both the room and bathroom. The staff were very friendly, though perhaps a little formal, and breakfast tasted good.

Parking felt very secure, and the front desk and service staff were pleasant and extremely helpful. We speak very little Spanish, but they were happy to use translate and help with anything we needed. It's a very nice, safe hotel.

The pool was clean and refreshing, set among an exotic garden, and the room was clean and comfortable. The place itself was a pleasant surprise. I felt a little unsure when we first arrived, but inside it's beautiful and charming, decorated with Honduran art and decor. The lady at the front desk spoke English very well. We enjoyed our stay enough to add an extra night. If I'm in Tegucigalpa again, I'd stay here. Ask for "Alexis" an official taxi driver. We used him many times; he was friendly and honest.

The food was good, and the waitresses were really helpful and seemed happy to serve us. We came for a Baptism/birthday, and it turned out to be a great venue for a smaller event. The music was soft jazz and suited the occasion so well that we didn't want to leave. You can take beautiful pictures here. I'll keep it in mind for future events.
