Hotel Coco Cabañas

The host is very helpful and speaks Spanish, French, and English well. The village is nice, with good local food options. I visited Punte Izopo and the botanic garden from here, and both were great for seeing birds and wildlife. The rooms are a bit basic for the price, but otherwise it's a great place.

The owner handled the refund well and sent it within a day, and this place has a lot of potential if someone takes care of the maintenance and upkeep. But be cautious about staying here. We expected something fun rather than luxurious, and the exterior, pool, and grounds looked as exciting as I'd hoped. We arrived late because of construction delays, and the caretaker greeted us and showed us the rooms. He said one room smelled musty because of recent rain, but it hadn't rained. The smell was from mold throughout the room. The rooms need serious attention and maintenance. We considered trying to stay, but the mold and odor were too much and felt unhealthy. After midnight, we told the owner and caretaker we had moved somewhere else.

The cabins are basic, rustic adobe, and priced well compared with other places around Tela. They're very close to a beautiful beach, and people in town are super friendly. Everyone hanging out there was lovely and welcoming, especially Miguel and Cecila. I can highly recommend staying here.

The Cabañas are well equipped and really nice, right by the beach. The whole area feels familial, and they make you feel at home. Miguel and his wife Ceci are attentive and always ready to help. It seems suitable for all kinds of travelers, whether families, couples, or solo guests.
