A nice budget stay in Utila, especially if you want a private room with shared bathrooms. There’s a kitchen too, and Maradel, the local owner, is super nice.

It’s basic and practical, with what you need: a fan, WiFi, kitchen, clothesline, and clean bathrooms. There are two bathrooms for eight rooms.

I stayed here for my first two nights. Mark has it wrong, this place is next to Bavaria, not Bavaria itself. The room hadn’t been cleaned before I got it, though I only noticed too late. Bathrooms are shared, so bring flip-flops. Still, it’s probably the cheapest place you can find, which is a plus :D

This was just right for what I needed: simple, secure, budget accommodation. Community matters to you? It’s a good place to stay if you want to know who you’re supporting. Maradell is a gem of an auntie, and I feel lucky to have crossed paths with her. Many thanks 🙏
