Pansion Tramontana

We love the vibe here and have kept coming back for 14 years. It’s a special, minimalistic and romantic place to relax in nature; after a week, you might forget about the outside world. The accommodation is decent, just don’t expect five stars. Everything feels done with love, and there’s more than you need. If you need anything extra, talk to Nina & Robi and they’ll make it happen. The people are great, and the local food is very good. You can choose fish, meat, or vegetarian, and you’ll never go hungry.

The blackout during our stay didn’t stop us from enjoying Pansion Tramontana. The peaceful setting and warm welcome made the experience lovely, and Mr. Ivan was especially kind and helpful. He stayed calm and made sure we were comfortable and looked after, which made a real difference. We stayed from 31st July to 2nd August 2025 in the charming village of Beli. The scenery and nature are beautiful, and it’s a great retreat for resting, hiking, or exploring Cres Island. I’d gladly return, and highly recommend it to anyone after a unique, relaxing experience in Croatia.

The rooms are clean and cozy, with decoration by local artists, and the food brings delicious Mediterranean flavors from local producers. Eating and sipping wine on the terrace while kids and dogs play nearby is lovely. Sheep wander and baa beside the road to Pod Beli. The steep walk is worth it for the fresh air and a good workout, and the sea is crystal clear. Bring snorkeling gear, something for shade like a tent or parasol, and shoes for the pebbles. The Beli Visitor and Rescue Centre for Griffon Vultures helps protect this endangered species, which nests on the cliffs above the sea. From a boat or a hidden beach, you may spot nests and huge scavenger birds circling overhead. The winding road ends at a pansion with a romantic, distinctive atmosphere, not a five star hotel. As the ferry nears shore, the cicadas and island scent are captivating. Nina, her husband, and the whole team are attentive hosts; they sort out problems and meet personal wishes. Pansion Tramontana is a family business and an unforgettable place for anyone seeking harmony with nature and themselves, and real value. Definitely not for selfie-takers :).

The view and atmosphere are nice, but I found the restaurant unreasonably expensive for the quality. My burger cost 14€, and fries and sauce were extra. It was okay, though at that price I expected more: just meat, some sauce, lettuce, and tomato slices that hadn’t been cleaned properly, with nothing else. A gin tonic was 7 or 8€ for a small serving, I think 0.2L.
