The garden, pool and olive trees are amazing, and it’s handy to have a washing machine and a supermarket nearby. The house is very nice, with a large, comfortable sofa that works well as an extra bed for the children. The owner even offered to bring a cot. Sleeping in the “attic” isn’t ideal with small kids, though, and we had wool blankets instead of duvets.

The location worked so well for us: the harbor in Bol is a five-minute walk away, the Golden Horn is about a ten-minute drive, and there’s a big supermarket roughly 100 meters from the house, open late on Sundays. Our host was warm and happy to help, even picking up cheese or fish from the market on request. He brought us fresh vegetables from his own garden beside the property, too. He came by for about an hour each day to clean the pool and look after the grounds, and we could ask for things like fresh towels. The house is modern and beautifully kept, with sea views, a hammock, air conditioning, a private pool without chlorine, and a large barbecue. It was stocked with everything we needed, from kitchen utensils and an iron to a hairdryer, DVD player, sound system and LED lights outside. We’d gladly come back for another wonderful holiday. It had everything we’d expect from a five-star hotel.
