Apartments Mare

Brela itself is somewhere I’d recommend, but I wouldn’t send anyone to this apartment. The beach is reached by more than 300 steps, despite the listing making it sound like a four-minute walk. Parking is 400 metres away on a 30% slope, so you need a capable car and confidence driving it. One neighbor showed us the place and basically said, “There it is, go in.” The owner lives in Split and the other owner is in the Netherlands. The photos make the apartment look much better than it is. In person, the walls were cracked, the beds creaked, drawer fronts were coming off, and the fridge didn’t work. A lamp inside it was broken and hanging down. We called the landlady; she said a repairman would come, but he never did. We ended up freezing water bottles and putting them in the top part to cool things. The cooking gas bottle sits by a sunny window. The cupboards are old, there were only three forks, and there were lots of shtrigas, grasshoppers, and lizards around. I’ll attach photos so you can judge for yourself.
