Once we were in a different room, the stay improved and we could enjoy the facilities. The hotel should deal with the mouldy smell problem, which seems to happen regularly. We had to put up with it until day two because the hotel was full. They weren’t very apologetic. For the amount these rooms cost, it isn’t acceptable to sell one in that condition and make guests go through the hassle of moving. The pool areas are lovely, and there’s direct beach access from the bottom of the hotel. Beach sunbeds cost extra. Breakfast had what we needed, though the orange juice came from a cheap machine and could have been fresher. The omelette maker was super friendly and made a great omelette. The dinner buffet was decent, with enough choice to fill up, and staff kept topping things up. Parking can be tricky because there isn’t much space. If it’s full when you arrive, park by reception. They move the car to a nearby garage and bring it back when you need it, like a valet service, and charge for that too. There’s a promenade along the beach at the bottom of the hotel, with nearby bars and restaurants. The gym was decent, with cardio machines, free weights, a squat rack, and a cable machine. It’s a lovely, relaxing location among the trees. We were lucky to change rooms, though the initial problem really put a damper on things.
We got good value in September, when it was off season, especially with dinner included. The location is lovely, but the room was small and both the service and food were underwhelming. There were extra costs too, like paying for water at dinner. At peak season prices, I don't think it would be worth it.
The infinity pool was the only facility we liked. Our booking at this 5 star hotel was moved to Mala Berulia next door, which is cheaper and part of the same chain but doesn't offer the same facilities. The manager was very rude and blamed us for booking there, and an employee said we were lucky not to be staying long. The relocated hotel felt like 3 stars at most, and its high price didn't include the spa. There are better places around, so keep looking if you want a good stay. Avoid this place if you can.
Breakfast and dinner are at Bluesun Berulia, about 100m away, along a pleasant path by the beach. This hotel is part of Bluesun Berulia and is 4 stars. My guess is the rooms are a little smaller, but guests can use the sister hotel's 5 star amenities. Our room was clean and nice, with a balcony overlooking the sea. There's also a small fridge stocked with drinks for purchase. A beer costs around 5€.
The sea was clean and the view was lovely, though there weren't many food options. The rooms are small.
