Villa Amari

We’ve been coming back to this lovely place on our trips to Croatia for the last 15 years. Zorana and her husband are kind, welcoming owners, and they keep improving the property. The location is great, just a few steps from the beach, with a private fenced pool and everything close by. The apartments with an ocean view are a little larger, and a few have outdoor seating, which is ideal when staying with dogs. Parking is classic Croatian style, but we had no trouble. Rafa will park for you if you’re not confident doing it yourself. I can definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a stay in this small town.

Lovely place, and the owners are great.

I wouldn’t recommend booking this property through Booking.com. The hosts seemed poorly organized and showed little consideration for people hoping to stay there. I booked four months ahead. Three days before my stay, the property messaged me very informally to say they only accept guests staying at least three nights, and that I should “feel free to cancel my booking.” That minimum stay wasn’t mentioned in the Booking.com description, and my two-night reservation had already been confirmed for over four months. It caused unnecessary stress and showed a real lack of transparency.

Villa Amari was excellent, with nothing for us to complain about. We stayed in a ground-floor apartment with our dog, and the house is right on the seafront, about 10 steps from the beach. The apartment was clean and well furnished, and the beautiful pool was clean and well maintained too. The hosts were extremely hospitable and helped whenever they could. You can sample and buy homemade honey and olive oil on site. We’ll be back :-)
