Villa Paulina

The beach is right by the building, and the villa is beautiful, with superior rooms and an extraordinary view. We were welcomed warmly. Everything was excellent, and it’s definitely one of those places you’d want to return to.

There were black ants, and they dealt with them by mopping the floors with strong chemicals. The bedroom was very small.

What made our stay especially memorable was Anna, Antonela and the ladies working in the mornings. Anna was kind and wonderful, and I loved chatting with Antonela in the afternoons. We were so happy with the place and the people that we booked Villa Paulina again for our next Croatia holiday. It was hard to leave. The sea and beach are only a few meters away, with Brac across the water. A little farther on is the center of Brela, with its pretty small marina, restaurants, a couple of beach bars, cafés and souvenir shops. Brela is lively and charming without being rowdy, with no nightclubs or bars open into the early hours. It felt suited to couples and families looking for a relaxing seaside break. We had a terrace with a fabulous view and ate breakfast there every morning for two weeks. You don’t get tired of that view. Breakfast is set out in each building’s breakfast room by the pool, though there’s nowhere to eat around the pool. We could take it back to our own space. There was plenty to choose from, including fruit, vegetables, meats and eggs. The two buildings each have seven apartments, most with balconies and a few with terraces. Our apartment was modern and clean without feeling sterile, in a beautifully kept garden setting. The pools were well maintained. Our room was cleaned every other day with fresh towels, as requested, though I think daily cleaning may be available. There’s a small but functional gym, and we used the bike and stepper most afternoons. There’s also a sauna, which we skipped because it was 30 degrees Celsius or hotter, but it could be nice in the shoulder season.

The owner, Ana, was so polite and made the stay even more pleasant. We also enjoyed the nice breakfast each morning. The apartments were beautiful and clean, with lots of green space and a swimming pool, and the location was perfect 😊
