We left as soon as we arrived. The old reviews looked good, but the place wasn’t nice. There were beer bottles and rubbish outside, and the owners’ clothes drying racks were in the passageway. Then we were taken up four narrow flights of stairs to a room with a bed tucked under a sloping ceiling. It looked nothing like the photos. Maybe it’s fine for people on a budget, but we were paying four-star hotel prices. We left right away, and Red Coral Cavtat kept our 270 euros for two nights and marked us as a “no-show.” I suppose that was to discourage us from writing a review. I don’t usually post negative reviews, but so many people work hard to provide great hospitality and deserve your money more.

The family running these spacious, nice apartments was friendly, and they’re fully equipped. There’s parking, and the city center is a six-minute walk away. The ground-floor view isn’t amazing, but it’s still okay.

The apartments are clean, practical, and fully furnished, and the location is actually nice, with great views of the mountains, sea, and Cavtat. Red Coral shares its parking lot with four or five other townhouse blocks. It’s a ten-minute climb up from town on foot, or half a kilometer before town when driving downhill. Mosquitoes, the tiny hot bedroom in the top-floor loft, and a noisy air conditioner spoiled the stay. Would I book again? Yep 😉

The hill can be a bit tiring, though it does give you an excuse to eat more ice cream without feeling guilty. Red coral is the only place to stay in cavtat, with outstanding views and a fantastic owner.

The apartment was beautiful, very clean, and really spacious. The owner Ana gave us a lovely welcome, and it was well equipped.
