Villa la Perla

Cavtat is a lovely town, and everything is just a few minutes’ walk from the villa. Anita did all she could to make our stay great, even leaving home-baked treats for us. The villa looked just like the photos and was beautifully presented. Everything was perfect. When one air-conditioning unit had a small issue, she arranged for an engineer to fix it within hours. We’d definitely come back.

We spent a wonderful time at Villa La Perla with our group of ten. The sunsets over Cavtat and all the way to Dubrovnik were amazing, and the large main balcony became our gathering spot for breakfast, lunch, and evening drinks. There was plenty of seating and table space. The living area is spacious, and the bedrooms and rest of the accommodation were clean, roomy, and tastefully decorated. The pool was a great extra, with sunny spots and a covered shaded area, and it was easy to choose between a swim there or in the nearby sea. Anita was friendly, quick to respond, and helpful throughout. She also arranged airport transfers and a fantastic boat trip. I’d certainly recommend Villa La Perla for a large group visiting Cavtat.

Anita was a thoughtful host and even brought us fresh figs and homemade pastries. The villa is spacious, with pretty bedrooms, lovely views, and a well-designed pool area. It’s an easy walk into the centre of a beautiful town, and only a short drive from the airport. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

I wouldn’t describe this as a villa or as luxury accommodation. It’s a two-storey apartment attached to other apartments, and there were so many small faults that together they became a major problem: a loose toilet seat, broken high chair, smelly dishwasher, broken pool lights, chipped cups, broken fridge shelves, and more. Given the very high price, I expected far more, and I can’t work out who this place would suit. There are too many steps for it to be family-friendly. My 7-month-old daughter couldn’t sleep well with the flight path directly overhead and a busy road next door. Quiet hours start at 11pm and are enforced with military precision. Aggressive neighbours threatened to call the police, so this isn’t somewhere for anyone who likes to have fun late into the night. I’d say no events or parties. The host was nice and friendly during our stay, and graciously let us leave our cases at the villa before check-in. She stayed pleasant even though we misunderstood what time we needed to be back at the villa. But after the holiday, when we got in touch to discuss how disappointed we all were, that pleasant manner disappeared. She even accused us of blackmail and asking for a free holiday, neither of which is true, and of creating fake accounts to boost ratings and contradict our criticisms. Shameful. Avoid.
