We had a really good stay this year. The villa is a little dated, though the owners have started restoring it, and there are still a few things that need fixing. Even so, it was comfortable. The food was great, and the service was even better. We'd read the reviews and wondered what to expect, but things turned out well. It was also nice that there weren't many people around.
We've stayed at Villa Atalanta several times, and we're already looking forward to our holiday there again this year. It's close to the sea, the staff are friendly, and the food is good. Everything's great.
This was my experience in August 2021. The stay wasn't worth the price, and the food quality was shameful. Avoid a room without air conditioning. You can't sleep with the windows closed, but opening them means noise coming in from the other rooms.
The food was disgusting, unhygienic, and so hard to identify that I couldn't tell what I was eating. I got food poisoning from it and was vomiting. The rooms were in terrible shape too: door handles were missing, wallpaper was peeling, and the bed creaked so much that even thinking about turning over seemed enough to wake everyone. The whole place felt like a dump, with conditions I imagine might be better in a shack. Going there feels like suicide. I wouldn't advise anyone to stay.
I've stayed at Villa Atanata several times. It's been a great vacation every time.
