Hotel Kvarner Palace

The view is beautiful, and I'd recommend staying here with breakfast included. If you're coming from Germany, this could be your hotel :)

The apartment was roomy and cleaned spotless every day, though the mattresses were worn out and noisy whenever we moved. We had a lovely week here, with friendly, well-trained staff who were always ready to help. The pool never felt crowded, but the beach sometimes filled up with people from outside the hotel, and arriving in the afternoon meant we couldn't get a sunbed. Meals had a great range of fish, vegetables, and fruit, and the bar service was just as good. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend it.

The walk back from the nice beach takes about 20 minutes uphill, and finding either of the hotel's main entrances is awkward because both are hidden. From a distance the place looks attractive, but inside it was dirty and dusty. The lobby felt like an abandoned mansion, and there were stains on the bed and dust throughout my room. The food was nothing special, and the service didn't meet a four-star standard. The dirt and poor service were the worst parts.

The rooms have been fully renovated, even though the hotel itself is old, and the place has a lovely 19th-century feel with flowers and greenery all around. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. It's got everything I need to relax, and I'll be back for many more years.
