The owner's service and attitude were a disaster. There was no politeness at all, and the whole experience was very unpleasant.

The rooms were clean and tidy, the mattresses very comfortable, and towels were replaced every two days. The owner was friendly and helpful. There was a general store nearby, with a market a little farther away. The neighborhood itself was nothing special, just plain buildings. One issue was that the owner wouldn't let so-called "foreign" guests meet at the apartment. He said they couldn't come from other resorts because he could be fined if inspected. This involved children wanting to play together during the day and their parents meeting for a sober afternoon chat. At the resort where the other guests stayed, this wasn't a problem. In Crikvenica, take care where you park. Cars left outside the paid zone may be fined and towed, even where parking there isn't prohibited. In my experience, only cars with foreign plates got these fines.

This was our third year there, but when we arrived, the owner looked surprised to see us. He checked the calendar, where we were already listed, then told us our place had unfortunately been given to someone else. After that, there was no trust at all.

We keep returning and plan to continue, because we've never found apartments this clean, tidy, or well equipped elsewhere. The hosts are kind and fair, and we've had no booking problems. Reservations just need to be confirmed and arranged in good time. It's close to the beach, with a sea view, and there's access to a sauna, swimming pool, and gym. Perfect.
