Big Bear Plitvice Camping Resort

We had such a memorable weekend here. The apartment was comfortable and spotless, and the restaurant meant my wife and I didn’t need to cook at all. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, and the natural surroundings are beautiful. We’ll definitely return, next time for seven days.

We came for Plitvič lakes, and the walk around the park from entrance 1 gave us loads of great views. If you enjoy nature and are happy walking, I’d skip the big boat ride, though you do need to take the small boat crossing on foot. Don’t miss the spot I marked on the map photo, the waterfalls there are the best :) At Big bear, hardly any pitches were occupied when we visited, so we could pick our own. The tap water was cold and tasted great, and there was a three-stage power plug. The bathroom block was great too, with plenty of toilets, washing tables and showers for both genders.

We arrived in the evening in heavy rain and were greeted with a smile by a very welcoming host. The clean facilities, warm shower and restaurant were just what we needed. We headed to Plitvica nature park the next day, and it was definitely worth the stop.

A small, quiet camp with clean bathrooms and a restaurant right there. It has everything you need for a two or three night stay while visiting Plitvice lakes.
