The sea was clear and warm, but the beach itself was rather untidy. We weren’t all that taken with Dramalj or the location in general. A drive of a few kilometers can take you to cleaner, quieter stretches of beach. The apartment was very nice and spacious enough for four.

The villa details shown on Booking didn’t match what we found. We rented the middle apartment and the attic one. There were three families, and we’d chosen these partly because a dishwasher was available, but it was broken and full of mold. The middle apartment was dusty and dirty, and there was a strong stale smoking smell. It seemed the room had been smoked in for a long time, and the apartment probably hadn’t been aired out.

The private pool was okay. On the middle floor the beds were uncomfortable, and in the room where the bed was comfortable, the room itself was small. The cleaning staff didn’t seem to know what cleaning means.

The pool was great, but the apartments weren’t all equipped to the same standard. The middle one was the best.
