Resort Amalka Mare by Litto

Villa Mare was a real treat, especially the pool filled with seawater. It’s right by the sparkling sea, and at night the lights made an evening swim under the stars feel lovely. The house has plenty of room, with a big bedroom and an open kitchen and living area. There’s a Nespresso machine with pods, though anyone who drinks a lot of coffee may want to bring extra pods. We made good use of the two SUPs in the calm bay, and the two e-bikes were handy for exploring at our own pace. There’s also a well-equipped gym. Nikša was a wonderful host, always going out of his way to help and making sure we had what we needed. Drvenik Veli is small and charming, with one little shop for the basics, so bring any specialty items you rely on. Two restaurants are only a few minutes away, with tasty local food and excellent wine. The villa itself is spacious and thoughtfully laid out, and each house has its own private pool. Ours was a memorable stay, and Villa Mare is now one of our favorite places in Dalmatia. We can’t wait to come back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Amalka Mare House. It’s tucked away somewhere quiet, just right for a peaceful break without the noise and crowds. Everything was exceptionally clean and modern, with what we needed for a comfortable stay: a fully equipped kitchen, air-conditioned rooms, and a terrace with a lovely sea view. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and easy to reach whenever something came up. Their recommendations for nearby restaurants, beaches, and excursions were especially helpful.

Villa Verde had a huge covered terrace, a big table, and an impressive pool. The Amalka Mare resort is attractive and furnished in a more or less stylish way, and our stay was still very pleasant. But it has a lot of potential that’s being left untapped. We heard “no” too often from the start. Several advertised extras were broken, including the canoe, the sun lounger canopy, and the swing. Buds and trees were growing into the walkways, there was mold in the bathroom, and the mattress was so poor I could feel every spring. The kitchen was small and had no oven or microwave. We also had to buy our own grill charcoal, which hadn’t been mentioned beforehand. The houses are fully exposed, so there’s hardly any privacy. During the holiday I even found myself wanting to fix and decorate things. For a five-star resort, I expected more, at least a welcome gift or charcoal for the grill. A place like this needs consistent upkeep. I can only give it three stars because I judge reviews by value for money, and we expected more here. Small things can make a big difference, and ownership comes with responsibility. Many thanks to Niksa, though. He was helpful and friendly, and when we had a minor “emergency,” he showed up in no time. Excellent service.
