It feels like time has stopped on the island and in town, but the place is still full of life. Even in high season it isn’t crowded. The sea around the island is warm and very clean, with lots of marine life. The pebbly beaches on the other side, Solinska and Blue Lagoon, are well worth a visit. The apartments are clean, renovated, and well equipped. Our ground-floor apartment was very large, while the upstairs ones are much smaller but still adequate, with big terraces and sea views. The pool is large and clean. There are two barbecues, one very modern, plus a washing machine, dishwasher, and storage for water equipment. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The beach, a concrete and rocky shore with access to the water, is about 100 meters away, and the town center is around 300 meters away. Larger cars can’t reach the apartment because the town streets are so narrow, but the owners arranged to transfer our luggage and provided parking at the port. The bakery has fresh bread baked on site. The shop has what you need, though the selection changes depending on what has arrived by ferry and the time of day. Ferry connections to the mainland and the other island are excellent. There’s a working ATM. You can pay by card in the shop, but everywhere except Blue Lagoon is cash only.

The property was beautiful, but the atmosphere created by the owner meant we wouldn’t recommend it. When the children picked grapes growing in a public area, the elderly woman who owns the place shouted at us harshly. We offered to pay for the grapes, but she continued yelling in front of the other guests. She also told the children not to play freely in the pool, ordering them to swim back and forth, and kept warning everyone. We felt watched all the time from the ground-floor window where she lives.

The pool was the icing on the cake, and we had a great time. Our apartment was clean and had all the kitchen utensils we needed. The owners were friendly and helpful, and welcomed us with wine, beer, prosciutto, and cheese. Getting around the island is limited by narrow roads, but the owner drove us to a remote beach and came back to pick us up without any trouble. Hats off!

We loved this beautiful place, a great spot to take a break from the daily rush. The apartment was modern, nicely arranged, and had a pool. It had everything we needed, and the owners welcomed us with wine, beer, and local ham and cheese. Beautiful sunsets, too. Such a wonderful place.

The sea is crystal clear, and Drvenik Veli stays uncrowded even in the middle of the season. One of the best places on the Adriatic if you’re hoping to get away from the crowds. The apartments at Villa LA are new, clean, and perfectly equipped, and the hosts are kind and helpful. Apartment 4’s terrace is a fantastic spot for sunset photos.
