Apartment Pavo

Pavo was a good host, and the tomato garden he let us pick from was a nice touch. Still, I felt the apartment could use some work. The furniture was old and smelled musty, and the cheap sofa covers looked shabby. The bedding was poor too: the sheets weren’t the right size, the beds hadn’t been made, and I didn’t find the sheets until the second day. It wasn’t a bad stay, but there were several things to improve.

Pavo is what made the vacation special. He showed us his Dubrovnik and Croatia, including a little boat trip to the Blue Grotto followed by a very personal island tour, and a visit to his small village house. Those were unique, unforgettable moments. The accommodation itself delivers what it promises. Highly recommended!

The apartment left an extremely negative impression. There’s no iron, despite it being advertised, and the furniture in the photos looks at least ten times better than it does in person. The bathroom smelled like a train station toilet. The dishes and pots were dirty, with nothing washed after the previous guests. The place is on a street with a steep staircase. The Booking.com rating is, to put it mildly, too high.

Getting in is a bit difficult, with quite a lot of stairs, and the parking is separate. Apart from that, it’s fine.
