The room was spotless and had a full kitchen, though we didn't need to cook. The host was thoughtful and kept in touch several times before we got there to make sure they could meet us. They were courteous, easy to reach, and happy to answer questions. The location was the big win for me. Having stayed in Dubrovnik twice before, I used to think a view mattered most, but my previous choice meant climbing more than 100 stairs. Here there were hardly any, apart from the stairs inside the building up to the room. It's right by the entrance at Pile Gate, so getting around was really easy. There's a lovely restaurant in the building with a small terrace, and one of the best burger places is just downstairs across the alley. There's so much to do in Dubrovnik, and I'd happily recommend staying here.

An unexpected emergency forced me to cancel my trip, so I asked for a refund on the room. I explained what had happened and sent all the required documents, but the hotel turned down the request without taking my situation into account. That response felt especially upsetting at an already stressful time. I know hotels have policies, but some understanding and flexibility would have helped. I won't book here again, and I'd urge others to think carefully if their plans might change.

A lovely room with a comfortable bed, right by the entrance to the old town. Everything is easy to reach, including cafes, bars, restaurants and other amenities. Highly recommend.
