Heritage hotel Chersin

I had to cancel a long-planned trip after getting Covid. The other hotels I’d booked in Croatia didn’t charge cancellation fees, but this one did. I asked politely twice and explained what had happened, but they didn’t answer. They just sent back “dismissed,” so I had to pay.

The restaurant was so good that we wished we’d eaten there every night. It seemed better than average for restaurants in Fažana, and the local beer and coffee were lovely too. We stayed three nights and everything felt just right: clean rooms, a great location, private parking in front of the hotel, and breakfast included in the price. The staff were exceptionally friendly. We loved the style of the place and would gladly return.

The hotel looked lovely, but the way we were treated was beyond obnoxious. It was a rainy morning, and I was showing Fažana to my son and his family. We’d been walking around soaked, trying to find breakfast, so when I saw this hotel was open I went in and asked the person at reception if we could eat there. We were ready to pay. He said they only serve hotel guests. I pleaded for an exception, but he was rude and aggressive. I’ve traveled all over the world and never been treated like that.

The way they handled things was awful: poor communication, payment terms changed after I’d reserved, and then they threatened to sue when I cancelled.
