Hotel Delfin Plava Laguna

The rooms are small, not very renovated, and don’t have air conditioning, but the view was stunning. I arrived with low expectations after reading the earlier reviews, some fair and some not. The food impressed me a lot, both for its taste and for the generous portions. I especially want to mention the two cooks serving the buffet. They were friendly and helpful. The young woman explained the dishes, which made choosing easier. I’m not completely sure, but I think her name was Dorotea. The gentleman working with her was highly professional and quick to refill the trays, so I got to try everything they recommended. As someone who loves food, I had a really pleasant experience. I’d recommend it, and I’ll be back to stay in the near future.

The biggest drawback for us was the lack of air conditioning in the room, which unfortunately affected my overall rating. Otherwise, the hotel was clean and housekeeping came regularly. The buffet was very good for a two-star hotel, with all the dishes tasting good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The grounds are spacious and green, with a children’s playground and a large parking lot, and there’s a wide beach right in front. Special thanks to the attentive reception staff member Krešimir, who explained everything in detail and did his best to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

It’s frustrating to see hotel guests claim sunbeds with towels early in the morning and then stay away all day. Families coming to enjoy the pool are left with nowhere to lie down, while empty towels sit on the beds for hours. The hotel manager seems incompetent and evasive, hiding behind the resort management. Maybe management should look at how other resorts handle this and borrow some useful ideas to improve the service.

The shower cubicles are so cramped that they seem suitable only for guests weighing up to 60 kg, and the toilet seats were dirty in every room. We were fortunate to have Adnan at reception. He did his best to make our stay pleasant, even moving us between three rooms. The whole hotel complex feels very economy class, with people seemingly coming mainly for the included breakfast and dinner. We won't come back, and I can't recommend it.
