The facilities were old, but that’s what you pay for. The restaurant staff were rude, though. At breakfast I asked the older gentleman supervising the tables for napkins, and he turned around and said, “your eyes can't see? you better open them up”. I wear glasses. He was pointing to napkins wrapped around the silverware on the balcony tables. Really unprofessional and rude. The online photos don’t match the room situation.

It’s in a great spot, walking distance to good bars and restaurants, but set back enough to stay quiet. The staff are lovely and helpful, and the place is clean and as well looked after as you can expect. Still, the facilities are very old and smell that way. The vibe isn’t especially upbeat or happy for a vacation. It gets you through the nights with a shower and somewhere to sleep, but it’s too old and plain for a high rating, even though they do try to be helpful.

The room we were given when we arrived on Sunday was filthy, with food and stains on the carpets and used towels and sheets from the previous owners. We complained at reception and were moved to an upgraded sea view room, but it was hardly better. I know it’s only a 2 star hotel, but this was the grottiest place I’ve ever stayed. The new room had no air con, dirty carpets and dirty, mouldy bathroom tiles. The toilet leaked because it wasn’t fixed in at the back, it was filthy and the room smelled bad all week. We also got electric shocks from plug sockets that weren’t properly screwed into the wall. There were only two sockets, one taken up by the rusty fan and the other by the mini bar fridge. We asked for the room to be cleaned every day, but the cleaners kept forgetting fresh towels, and the next day they forgot the bed sheets. When we complained, the woman at reception looked at us like idiots and said to share a bed sheet because the cleaners had gone home. Appalling service and hotel. Hvar is beautiful, but this hotel isn’t. I hope the owner improves it, because it’s not up to standard and nowhere near worth what they charge. I’d strongly advise people not to stay here.

Friendly staff, a sports bar in the lobby downstairs, and only a 5 min walk to the main square. I had a large harbor view room for 60 dollars a night, decent for the price. One night I woke up with fire ants crawling over the bed, which wasn’t great. They changed the mattress, and I didn’t have a problem after that.
