Heritage Hotel Park Hvar

House Karkovich is managed by Hotel Park Hvar. We checked in at the hotel, then walked a short way to the apartment. The hotel concierge was helpful in finding us an island tour, and breakfast at the hotel was included with a surprisingly broad choice of food. We skipped the restaurant since there were so many other options nearby. The apartment has two bedrooms and a bathroom on the main floor, with a kitchen, sofa, and another bathroom with a washer upstairs. Four people with big suitcases will find it tight, but it works. The showers have good pressure. One of the switches in the upstairs bathroom controls the hot water tank, so check that before ending up with a cold shower. The location is pretty central, though you do have to go up steps, as you do almost everywhere. The alley by the door leads toward the bus stop without the stairs. From there you can loop back through the square to the ferry if you want to avoid hauling bags. Call ahead and they can arrange a porter, which is worth doing. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

A lovely spot in a breathtaking Hvar town. The reception was friendly and welcoming, and our spacious room had all the facilities we needed, a partial sea view, and a proper city view. We could walk to several decent restaurants and to the middle of the Old Town.

The breakfast was wonderful, and so was our suite, with stunning views. This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Pay a little extra for the sea view suite.

Pros: Great location, helpful service, and a porter to move bags to and from the pier. The breakfast spread was huge for a hotel with just 15 rooms. Cons: The shower has no partition, so water gets onto the bathroom floor. The sheer curtains let in all the light, and we were awake by 6am. The air conditioning was set to heat only, so we had to open the windows. Then the church bells and guests coming and going kept disturbing us from 6am.
