Villa Fio

We spent seven days at Villa Fio and loved every minute. We chose the sea-view apartment and were really happy with it. Maria is a wonderful, chatty host who goes out of her way to make you comfortable. We used the laundry service and got our clothes back cleaner and better-smelling than with dry cleaning. They also give you a map showing places to visit and places to avoid, which comes in handy when the island is full of tourist traps. The villa looks out over Pokonji dol beach, so you can sleep in and still be among the first people on that crowded beach. Restaurants and supermarkets are a ten minute walk downhill. Just remember the villa is on a hill, so it’s a good fit if you don’t mind walking.

The little touches made this stay especially pleasant. When it rained, Marija had put umbrellas in the hallway for every apartment. The service was superb, and the apartment was spotless and had everything we needed for a holiday. Villa Fio is great value too, about 10-15 minutes on foot from the city center and only 5 minutes from the lovely beach Pokojni Dol.

The balcony looks out over the cliffs and surrounding nature, and parking was easy and well organised. The rooms are spacious and modern. It’s up at the top of the hill, right beside Hvar old town’s best beach.

We really enjoyed staying here. It’s peaceful and close to what we thought was the nicest beach in Hvar, though the city center is about 1.5 km away. Our room was clean and comfortable, had a balcony, and the staff were very friendly.
