Zori Timeless Hotel

I haven’t stayed at the hotel, so this is only about the food. The octopus was so chewy it reminded me of a leather shoe, and for the same price it was about half as tasty as what I expected. Afterward, a few local guides told us the restaurant was pretentious because Bezos had eaten there once or twice, and that they only make an effort when he’s around. The staff were nice, but recommended white wine with pumpkin, which is a challenge by itself, especially since pumpkin turns up with almost all their spring dishes and isn’t particularly seasonal. Places like this are why I usually ask locals where to eat. If you don’t know the signs, they’re easy traps. I’m grateful for the lesson.

Restaurant only. The view is beautiful and the setting feels romantic. Although it’s close to the beach, the restaurant is set apart enough that it shouldn’t disturb you on overcrowded days. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the unusual selection was tasty. We tried steak, tagliatelle's, and childish chicken stipes. Prices felt justified by the food and location, though expect around 100Eur/per. Zori definitely presents itself as a haute cuisine restaurant, and you could call it that. The wasps were the one thing that significantly spoiled the atmosphere. They kept flying around and were quite bothersome. Given the restaurant’s high level, I strongly recommend finding a solution.

We celebrated my 59th birthday here, and Isidor looked after us from the day through into the evening as our waiter and butler. Ask for him, he made it feel so special. The sunset dinner setting was beautiful and the food was delicious. Everything about Zori was fabulous, especially Iva, the manager or owner, and her staff. They help however they can and make you feel like family. Thank you, Iva, Isidor and staff 🙏

Martin was a charming ambassador for the afternoon, and the standout dishes included the cabbage leaf taco, strawberry gazpacho, tuna tartar, scampi risotto, and amazing avocado dessert. Each course of the tasting menu had so much flavor and texture. I live in New York, and this was one of the best dining experiences I can remember, much better than some of the Mich-star restaurants I’ve visited. We’ll be back!
