DUNATOVI DVORI Heritage Hotel

Loved the staff, especially our lovely hostess, Ms Ljubica. She was funny, entertaining, and diligent. The beautifully restored Villa is right on the beach, with cafes and swimming nearby. The charming rooms have sea views, and the beds were fantastically comfortable, especially the pillows. I slept like a rock.

Even in the off season, when fewer places are open, this was a great spot to stay. The staff were incredible, the view was great, and breakfast was delicious. Rooms were clean and updated, while the stone walls kept them feeling cozy and distinctive. I loved staying here and would definitely come back.

Breakfast was good, with a view over the little courtyard garden, and the exposed brick inside gave the hotel a look I really liked. The room was a bit cramped, and I wasn't comfortable with the frosted glass bathroom door facing the bed, especially sharing with an older child. The TV seemed to have no English channels, and during the heatwave the air conditioning couldn't cool the room enough. Still, everything was very clean, and the hotel's loungers right on the seafront in Preko were a real plus. The location is lovely. A poolside sunbather might prefer the newly opened Hilton, but for us this was a good hotel.

We ate at the restaurant on two of our three nights, and the tuna was the best we've had in Croatia after 16 years of visiting. The staff were warm and easy to talk to, and the pool and private beach with cabanas were just right. Our room had a great bathroom and shower, a superb bed, and modern touches alongside the exposed brick. I like small independent boutique hotels, and this one gave us a brilliant stay.
