The location is really nice, though the water may feel cold to some people. A few minutes of swimming should help with that. The ice cream was good, and some drinks were worth the price, though not all of them. I wouldn't recommend eating there: we only tried main courses, and some ingredients tasted cheap while other parts seemed old. Prices felt far too high for the food, drinks, and staff, and the waiters could be rude for no reason or ignore us even when it wasn't busy. The loud music in the bar at night was especially annoying. It was hard to hear each other talk, even though this isn't a club. We stayed in three apartments. Number 2 was clean, had working AC, and no unpleasant smells, so I'd give it 4/5. The second apartment was very pretty and clean, both AC units worked, and it had the right pans and knives for cooking, so 6/5. We spent most of the trip in apartment number 3. Its AC didn't work, there were dirty spots in the kitchen and on the pans and cutlery, and one knife bent when we tried to cut with it. That one would get about 2/5.

We booked a ten-night stay for three families with children, but several problems led us to cancel. The resort was surrounded by construction, with dirt, building materials, and broken glass around the area. There was no appealing view, and the debris made us worry about letting the children explore. Inside, some electrical sockets were coming away from the walls, which also felt unsafe. The photos from booking didn't match what we found. Carpets and curtains were missing, and the sofa hadn't been prepared for sleeping, even though we'd chosen the apartment with our families in mind. Of the three apartments, two had noticeable smells, one like cigarette smoke and another like a dog. The kitchen smelled unpleasant too, and the worn equipment looked hard to clean properly. The equipment we found was dirty and damaged. The washing paddle was rusty, so using it on new or white clothes would be difficult. We attached photos to support what we've described and ask that these issues be looked into promptly.

The location on a peaceful island was just right, with the beach close by and plenty to do for anyone who doesn't want a purely relaxed holiday. The apartments were clean and spacious, the staff were lovely and very helpful, and the food was delicious.

Skakaone beach bar seemed to have been renovated recently. The food and drinks were really good, and there was live music in the evenings. The nearby village was lovely, with a good range of restaurants. The resort also had loads of things to do: SUP and kayak hire, really good bikes, mini-golf, a water park, table tennis, kids' entertainment, and yoga or aerobics for adults. We ran out of time before trying it all. You could also get breakfast buffet and dinner. The apartment was well equipped enough for simple meals like pasta, and towels were changed every other day. It was in a pine forest, with the beach just a few steps away and several other beaches within walking distance. The atmosphere was very nice. Cleanliness was a low point. What people say about it is probably true, so be prepared to be relaxed about it or sweep the place yourself. We arrived on 21/7, and it looked like the apartment hadn't been cleaned since the previous year, as if we were the first guests of the season. Since the resort is well suited to families, I can see why some parents with kids might not be so understanding. Our beach-view apartment only had that view if you used your imagination, though the other apartment had a better one. The TV really did only have four Croatian channels, but that didn't bother us. Our apartment was beside the bungalow used by the cleaning ladies. In the mornings they would gather and sit on our terrace and stairs while we were having breakfast. We also only had one room card, and it had to stay in its slot for the AC to work. We were a couple in an apartment meant for 2+1, so it felt a bit large for us. The value for money would be better with more people staying in it.
