The location and ocean are beautiful, and I appreciated how kind the reception staff were. While I was dealing with health issues, they tried to help and moved me to different rooms several times. The hotel was still a big disappointment. It’s advertised as dog-friendly, but my dog was allowed in some areas on certain days and kept out on others. That inconsistency was frustrating. The rooms feel extremely outdated, old communist-style, and poorly maintained. The toilets smelled bad, and all three rooms I tried during my six-night stay had similar problems: they were dirty, smelly, and uncomfortable. With such a beautiful setting, the hotel needs a serious renovation and better cleanliness standards. Sadly, I wouldn’t stay here again.

The staff were warm and kind, always willing to help, and the views were breathtaking. My rooms were comfortable, and the food was delicious, with plenty of fruit, fresh fish, and tasty meat. The menu changed each day. I’m grateful for such a wonderful holiday here.

We came with our family. The rooms are old and dated, but at least they were clean. The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly, and the sink and shower both leaked water across the floor. The location and food were great, though. Hopefully they rebuild the rooms soon.

Getting to the sea is easy, though if your building is farther away, the route can involve a lot of zigzagging. Some buildings also can’t be entered from every entrance. Breakfast was good, and there’s parking for cars. The city center is within walking distance. The resort looks like it dates from Tito's era and hasn’t changed much since. WiFi has been added, and some rooms have AC and flat screen TVs.

Fontana Resort felt like a “post-apocalypse chic” nightmare, right down to some apartments being named Cancer. We found an insect in our bed, and reception just shrugged it off, saying, “You’re in a forest, you sleep with them.” After that, we wanted to leave the island as fast as possible, but it felt like Alcatraz with worse air.
