Aminess Kadoor Hotel

The breakfast was delicious, but the stay had some real drawbacks. The hotel didn’t feel bike friendly, since I had to leave my bike by the main entrance. Both receptionists seemed rather unfriendly and not very accommodating. The room was clean, but quite small and disappointing for this price range. It also had no window facing outside.

Parking can be tricky: the hotel has around 5 spaces, and they were all occupied during my stay. There’s plenty of street parking nearby, but you’ll need the Bmove app to pay, since the terminals only take coins. The receptionist gave exceptional service, and the hotel was nice and clean. Breakfast was hot and good. My only other complaint was the lack of a kettle in the room, which I’d expect from a 4 star hotel. The terrace view wasn’t anything special.

The hotel restaurant was a pleasant surprise, especially the Milanese style pizza made with high-grade ingredients. Breakfast was very good too, with lots of fruit and fresh yoghurts in glass jars, though there could have been more fresh vegetables. Staff were lovely, the receptionists spoke English very well, and they helped with small things like parking and exchanging coins. Parking isn’t guaranteed. We found a spot the first time, but after a trip the hotel’s 5-6 spaces were full, so we had to use paid city parking on a more distant street. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with good storage and a very nice bathroom. Everything looked very new, perhaps a year or two old, though noise from the corridor and neighboring rooms carried clearly. Our room faced a somewhat run-down building, so don’t expect a scenic view. The hotel sits by a small park with a direct route to the historic center, which is undergoing heavy reconstruction. Many streets are rock and dirt, but some restaurants and shops remain. The newer center is about a 5 minute walk away. The hotel seems to be in a reconstructed historic building with its own character. It has a lot of potential, and once Karlovac center is rebuilt, it should be a wonderful place to stay.

The restaurant was a real highlight. I had one of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten, sorry, Italian friends! The service was helpful, and the beds were good in the spacious room. Parking might be a hassle, but the receptionist helped us get a space. A good hotel.
