Marojica Apartments

The warmth of Maro, Nicole, Mladin and Maro’s Mum was what made this place special. They welcomed us so genuinely that we left feeling we'd made friends. We were lucky enough to have Mladin’s wonderful fish and meat dinners, cooked in a traditional outdoor Croatian Konoba and served by the witty, engaging Maro. They were easily the best meals of our trip. The apartment itself is modern, bright, spotless, and beautifully presented, with a view that keeps changing. The pool and garden feel like a calm little oasis. We came away from Cavtat relaxed and rejuvenated, feeling we’d experienced some of Croatia’s real warmth and culture. Thank you, Maro, Nicole, Mladin and Maro’s Mum, and sorry I never learned your name!

We only found this place because our Dubrovnik flight was delayed and we needed to stay a couple more nights near the airport. What a lovely surprise. We enjoyed ourselves even more than in Old Town Dubrovnik. From the patio, pool, and kitchen area to the breathtaking cliffs and sea near Cavtat, it was so relaxing after the busy city. The apartment was very clean and had a fully equipped kitchen. Maro and his father cooked us a superb traditional dinner with ingredients grown there, especially memorable was the local swordfish from the grill. A perfect Mediterranean summer stay, and we’d come back without hesitation.

I’ve now stayed here three times, and each visit there’s something new in the garden or another lovely area they’ve added. Can’t wait to come back again! Maro, Nikol and the whole family are incredibly warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. You can get drinks at the bar for much less than in the town centre, and they grow fresh lemons and mint in the garden. Breakfast and dinner are served in the beautiful garden, made with fresh homemade local ingredients, including produce from the garden. The family know their food and love talking about it. Both meals are great value and absolutely worth recommending. The pool area is lovely and peaceful, surrounded by gardens. It’s about a 10 minute walk downhill to the town centre and around 20 minutes back uphill. For me, the walk is worth it for the views from the top. The room is spacious and spotless, with a comfortable big bed, a lovely balcony, and wonderful ocean and mountain views. It has great air conditioning, a huge bathroom, and all the basics like a microwave, cooker, fridge, and TV.

Getting into town means a downhill walk, and we’d take a taxi back up. Still, we’ll definitely return. The terrace view is smashing, and the pool was perfect for cooling off. Lovely apartment for two couples.
