Bijela kuća

We spent an hour there and left hungry. We ordered a basic burger and fries from the lunch menu, but after getting our drinks we had to call over a waiter just to place the order. Another 35-40 minutes passed without any food, so we gave up and left. There were plenty of staff around, but nobody seemed interested in serving guests. We’re not going back.

The portions are generous and the food is good, even with the low prices. I especially liked that they make their own lava cake instead of serving the frozen, microwaved kind you get at fancier places. I’ll definitely return.

The fries let the meal down a bit. They were barely fried and still cold inside. The rest of the food was okay, nothing special.

The location by the train station isn’t especially pretty, though it’s not really a spot for a romantic dinner. For this kind of meal, it’s one of the better places in Koprivnica. The cheeseburger is very good, aside from the tomatoes, which I don’t think belong in a serious burger. The potatoes taste nice but are a bit too soft. Meals come on wooden plates, which is a great touch, and the cevapi are decent, if not as good as the burger. Their bread is excellent. The Nutella lava cake was okay, but a milder ice cream like vanilla and a nicer plate and presentation would improve it.
