I booked the apartment for one night three weeks before we were due to arrive. At midnight the night before check-in, just seven hours before we reached Korcula, the host emailed me: “Cancel your booking, we have problem with the bathroom because someone broke the shower.” They didn't offer to help us find or book somewhere else. We don't believe there was actually a shower problem; they may have had a better offer and wanted to make more money. The whole thing felt extremely unprofessional and rude.

The location is ideal for getting to the main tourist sights, and the room was adequate. But it was dirty, with stains on the sheets, mold in the shower, and greasy mirrors. The owner's service was almost nonexistent. We had no restaurant voucher for our first lunch, and there were no towels. He never brought any.

The manager was friendly and helpful, and the room was modern, clean, and very nice, right in the center of Korcula. Parking is a five-minute walk away, near the supermarket, and costs 5 kyats per hour. Breakfast at the cafe downstairs was a letdown, though. It was just coffee, juice, and an omelet, with no other choices.
